The 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards kicked off with a performance from Wiz Khalifa, and a few words from host Mike Epps who took jabs at stars like Chris Brown in his opening bit, but T.I. and his Grand Hustle crew were first up for the night's cypher sessions.
Tip brought out his entire Grand Hustle squad, including the latest additions, to kick rhymes with him. DJ Premier was on the turntable as Houston's Trae Tha Truth begin the cyph, shouting out Lil Wayne during his feestyle, ("Like Weezy the way I skate on glass").
North London rapper Chip took his turn next, likely giving most viewers their first taste of his flow after joining Grand Hustle a few months ago along with Trae and Iggy Azalea. The Australia-born rapper, holding it down as the only girl in the crew, took some jabs at an unnamed enemy that may or may not be rival Azealia Banks (If I'm not your competition, what you mad for...nothing?")
